And now abide faith, hope, love,
these three; but the greatest of these is love.
(I Corinthians 13:13 NKJV)
Faith,
hope, and love are three abiding realities in which we are continually
called to excel in the Christian life. Many emphases come and go, but
these three abide.
In our
day, the words faith, hope and love have been cheapened in their meaning.
Faith has often been reduced to a spiritual force which supposedly obtains
whatever we want. Hope is sometimes reduced to a vague

sort of wishing that our circumstances turn out well. Love is frequently
reduced to a sentimental and romantic feeling that comes and goes like the
wind. In these 176 devotional studies, we will attempt to define these
three terms and seek biblical application for our lives. It is our prayer
that these devotional studies will strengthen your faith, expand your hope,
and encourage your love for God and for all people.
