The Judgments of God

A TOPIC WE TEND
TO AVOID...
by Clay Sterrett
When was the last time we read or
heard a message about judgments of God? "Eternal Judgments" is one of the
six foundational doctrines in Heb. 6:1-2 and yet there has been very little
published on the subject. Judgment is a doctrine that affects every person
on earth; man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment
(Heb. 9:27). We cannot know God intimately without knowing His judgment;
The Lord is known by the judgment He executes (Psa. 9:16). This
doctrine has practical applications, for if we are to be judged in the
future by Almighty God, then our present actions and inner motivations are
quite significant. The Judgments of God deals with God's judgment in
a comprehensive manner. The author combines sound theology with practical
applications in 280 pages. Chapters include:
- God's Inescapable Judgment
- God's Manner of Judgment
- God's Judgment of the Heathen
- God's Judgment in History
- God's Judgment in Recent Time
- God's Judgment in the Future
- God's Judgment Through Natural Disasters
- God's Judgment at the Cross
- God's Judgment in the Church
- God's Judgment of Believer's Works
- God's Judgment and Self-Examination
- God's Final Judgment
The Judgments of God is an excellent
resource for teachers and a discussion tool for small groups. Several
chapters will be practical for those committed to church life, especially
chapters which discuss when and how believers are to judge one another.
Our desire is that this book would give the
body of Christ a new and fresh appreciation for this neglected theme, and
more importantly -- that we would be better prepared to stand unashamed one
day before the righteous Judge of all men.
